HERITAGE
Castro de Rei has a continuous supply throughout the year in both its natural and heritage resources and services offered to its inhabitants and visitors. The hiking trails of the Azúmara River and Escrita have great appeal for fans of this sport. During the summer, the recreation area of the river and the municipal swimming pools are some of the most popular areas in the municipality. Moreover the Castro Riberas de Lea fair, held every Wednesday, and the Castro de Rei fair are a major tourist and gastronomic complement. The Castro Riberas de Lea fair is one of the most visited fairs throughout the province. It has craft stalls and a flea market, but also offers the opportunity to enjoy a delicious octopus dish. We’re talking about hundreds of people visiting the town during the summer months. The livestock market Castro receives an important influx of public because it is the third home market of importance in Galicia, along with that of Silleda in Lalín, and Amio in Santiago.
The archaeological importance and historical interest of the Castro de Viladonga as well as the quantity and quality of the materials found in the excavations made here since 1972, and the need to investigate and expose them in their own context, led to the creation of the Castro de Viladonga Museum by the Ministry of Culture in 1983.

As a curiosity among other things Rozas has two hangars at the Aerodrom, the main hangar is one of three that were originally installed by the German army last century. It is a great “live” engineering work. They occupy approximately 3,000 m2. This enables all aircraft based in Rozas to be inside a hangar.
